For those of you reading from across the pond, allow me to explain the etymology of this beers name. Or rather, let this excerpt from Urban Dictionary do the honours:
“UR Da Sells Avon”
Scottish insult: “Your father is a representative of the Avon company”
The peak, the maximum, the be-all and end-all of humiliation. The ultimate insult of one’s self, one’s family and one’s dignity. Consider all hope lost in your life if this is said to you. Use sparingly against enemies.
Being a huge fan of Bullhouse, and having been gifted a few for my birthday this was a delightful review to complete.
The pour is a golden orange and murky yellow. Much like a foggy sunrise, except the fog is haze and the sun is beer. Some might say the best type of sunrise.
The carbonation appears to be stable and low and there’s a good full-bodied tropical and citrus waft emanating.
To taste it’s pushing citrus and pineapple sweetness with an underlying bitterness verging on subtle. Ur Da Sells Avon delivers a delicious, smooth and oaty mouthfeel which is almost creamy.
The beautiful tin, adorned with artwork by cansbyjim, informs me that this brew has been dry-hopped with Talus, Citra and Ekuanot.
All in all a hefty enough brew to get through and weighing in at 6.6% ABV. Vegan friendly and couldn’t be fresher! Absolute fan.
